Located in Amarillo, Texas, Amarillo College is a 2 year community college that has a great history. In the year 1929 the city of Amarillo was the largest city in the state of Texas to not have a local college. There were already local community colleges in cities like Dallas, Houston and Austin. But that changed in that year with Amarillo opened the doors on its own community college.

Amarillo College is the home to over 10,000 students. The college's main and original campus is located near downtown Amarillo, and is nearly 31 acres and has 17 buildings. They also have 5 other campuses in the area including an East, West and Polk Street campus. Their colors are blue and white and the college motto is Collegium Excellens.
